Ephesians 4:29-30 explains that Christians need to avoid corrupt talk that rot relationships. Instead, build people up, say things that fit the occasion and speak things that bring grace to people who hear it.
If we continue to speak using corrupting talk the Holy Spirit becomes sad because we chose to speak our minds instead of letting the Holy Spirit sanctify our speech.
